So this was our new house “BEFORE” From what you can see on the outside, we’ve added concrete landscape edging, a real garden, a new mailbox, a RED DOOR, and a fence and fire pit. Phew! And that’s just the outside! And here is our red door up close. We went with POSH RED by Valspar. I love the color, I think it’s the perfect hue. Not too bright, but very much red. In my opinion, it changed the entire house! We still need a couple more coats.
There was actually no mailbox when we moved in, so that was our first real “project” at the new house. We looked at a bunch of different options, but opted for a basic wooden post. Not only was it cheaper, but I think it looks more natural as well. We painted it white, added a box and some modern numbering, and I planted some pansies around the bottom. It’s the little things! We have a beautiful backyard! Our property is 1 acre, but much of it sits on “Protected Wetlands.” We have a little creek that goes through our backyard when it rains. We opted to go for a black chain-link across the backyard to preserve the beautiful view of the woods, which we thinned and cleared out the underbrush shortly after moving in. It probably gave us about 15 extra feet of yard inside the fence! It was very overgrown. We also added a fire pit. We’ve only used it a couple times, but I love it already! And Bennett thinks it’s his own personal playground, he loves to throw the pebbles back inside. =)
