Merry & Bright

This was our first Christmas as a family (with kids) outside Wisconsin, without traveling. Of course, McKenzie woke us up super-early. “SANTA CAME! SANTA CAME! SAAAAAANTA CAAAAAAAAME! Let’s open presents now. Get out of bed. I’ll go get our stockings!” {{Groan.}}

Anyway, she had so much fun opening all her lovely gifts from family & friends. Even Bennett sensed the excitement and was happily coo-ing away under his playmat. McKenzie had 3 outfit changes, trying on everything she got. She loves her new cupcake nightgown from Nina. She’s a nightgown girl. She’s also beyond obsessed with the tiny unicorns (first pic). They were in her stocking, from Mrs. Claus. (Because everyone knows Mrs. Claus is in charge of the stocking stuffers.) *wink*

After gifts, we cleaned up our post-present-opening mess. McKenzie was over-the-moon-happy, exclaiming “I WISH EVERY DAY WAS CHRISTMAS!” She promptly opened all the packages. Santa did tone it down this year. Her gifts (not all from Santa)  included: a Melissa & Doug folding horse stable & Pasture Pals, the first Harry Potter book (she just finished Hugo with Daddy), a couple clothes, a Flutterbye Fairy, an amazing pop-up fairy book, a musical jewelry box, and a magic kit. Bennett got some teething rings, an ornament in his stocking, and a bedding set/matching mobile for his new room. As for me, I got an Ergo and new Original Hunter Boots in red. Yes, I already had red ones, but they’re too big now that I’ve lost a little weight since B was born.

After we cleaned up a bit, I made a quick quiche with some garlic and leftover fondue cheese. It was pretty delish! We watched “Jingle All the Way” on Netflix and had a pretty chill day. Christmas is magic. ♥

What a great first Christmas you had together in your new home. It makes my heart happy to see the stockings hung….by the chimney with care.

Merry Christmas!!! Love the idea of Mrs. Claus having a role in the gifts :)

Hope you had a Merry Christmas, too, Angie & Fam! I didn’t want Mrs. Claus to be left out, so that’s her role…! Lol. She picks out the stocking stuffers and sends them along with Santa. =)
