Got the OFFICIAL word yesterday—I’m scheduled to start the induction on Monday (August 5th) at 4pm! Yay! They will use Cervadil to start dilation, then start Pitocin the following morning. SO he will probably be born sometime Tuesday!
Tomorrow I get my first steroid shot in OB Triage at the hospital at 9am. Then Jon arrives around 10:30am, so we’ll go straight to get him from the airport. It’s all getting so close! I haven’t stressed it a lot, but the fear of stillbirth (in addition to the itching) is a little overwhelming, too. I’m so glad it’s almost over, and I can’t wait for him to be here safe & sound. Anyhow, here’s my FINAL “bumpdate!”
How far along are you? 33 weeks+ 5 days. I will likely be 34+2 when he’s born!
How big is the baby? He was 4lbs 12oz at last week’s growth scan—I’m guessing he’s over 5lbs now!
Weight Gain? Still 15 lbs. I think that’s all I’ll gain this pregnancy! 25lbs less than with McKenzie. Trying to force protein this last week.
Maternity clothes? Of course.
Stretch marks? I think my legs are swelling. I see a few tiny new ones on my thighs.
Sleep: Ambien is my savior. If I get good sleep, I’m not nearly as itchy during the day. It’s still intense though.
Best moment this week? Finding out the induction date/time and that Jon will be home for a full 11 days! I also got all the organizing done and bought some comfy PJ’s for the hospital (pictured)!
Movement? Yep. He is most active at night from about 6-11pm.
Food cravings? Fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil on a toasted English Muffin & broiled for 5 minutes. Oh my god. SO good.
Food aversions? Not really, just not hungry—per usual.
Labor signs? Nope, hoping my body will be ready for labor Monday. Started taking some Evening Primrose Oil & drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea. The doc said it probably wouldn’t help, but it couldn’t hurt.
Gender? Boy, definitely. Confirmed a million times.
Symptoms? Aside from the itching I feel pretty good. The Ambien helps SO much. I still am nesting like crazy. I cleaned out all our closets and organized ALL of them & made a Goodwill run. I’m done organizing the baby clothes, too. I still need to pack the hospital bag, diaper bag, and make a birth plan! I’m pretty laid back about it—I just want him OUT so I won’t itch anymore. My two BIG things are 1) Avoid C-section in any way possible, 2) No episiotomy. That’s pretty much it.
Belly button in or out? In, but it’s pretty flat.
Wedding rings on or off? Off now. I wear them as a necklace, but usually not because the necklace tickles my skin & makes me itch.
Happy or moody? Happy! Jon comes home tomorrow and I am SO looking forward to being induced Monday. He should be here in less than a week! Crazy!
What I miss: Not itching, but the end is so close! And normal clothes. I do miss my normal clothes.
What I am looking forward to: Jon coming home tomorrow, my first steroid shot, and Baby Boy’s arrival Tuesday-ish! I’m also looking forward to Fall weather.
