How far along are you? 26 weeks, 3 days…aka: 6½ months.
How big is the baby? About the size of a head of lettuce. He’s about 2lbs. according to his growth scan. =)
Weight Gain? Up to 13 lbs now…but only about 10 weeks to go. If I keep going at 1lb/week, I’m 100% happy with 23lbs. I gained 40 with McKenzie and lost ALL of it within 6 months.
Maternity clothes? Yep. I’m all about comfort.
Stretch marks? Still just tiny ones on my inner thighs & boobs. Nothing new since like 18 weeks, thank god. I REALLY don’t want any new ones. The small-ish weight gain helps a lot, I bet!
Sleep: Sleep has been less than ideal. I wake up every hour, no joke. I’m miserable. I don’t think I’ve had dreams in months. The itching is MUCH more severe at night—I swear, when the clock hits 8pm it’s like flipping a switch.
Best moment this week? My doctors started taking me more seriously when I said I wanted to cut myself with knives to make the itching stop. Yay?
Movement? Less so this week (which was nerve racking), but his heart tones sounded great at my appointment. He’s definitely more active at night.
Food cravings? I really wanted French Crepes (crepes filled with fresh strawberries, topped with fresh whipped cream and homemade strawberry syrup)….SO McKenzie and I went to The Original Pancake House & had breakfast. Yummmmmm. Do a location search on their website and see if there’s one near you—trust me, you won’t regret it, it’s worth a drive (they’re in most states). Holy amazingness.
Food aversions? I’m not averse to anything, it’s just that nothing sounds good. Cholestasis of pregnancy causes loss of appetite, after all.
Labor signs? Not this week, thank goodness. Almost to “good” viability, just in case!
Symptoms? Cholestasis of Pregnancy, Carpal Tunnel of Pregnancy, and my fingers feel like sausages. You can kinda tell from the pic that they’re really swollen. It’s weird.
Belly button in or out? In, obviously (see pic). It never came out with McKenzie, just went flat.
Wedding rings on or off? Off now. That Carpal Tunnel thing makes my hands go numb occasionally, and the rings worsen it.
Happy or moody? Both this week. Moody because I’m SO sick of itching. I feel like a meth addict, minus the meth of course. But happy because McKenzie and I have been doing fun things like canoeing on Lake Monona and meeting other preggo blogger friends for fro-yo (I had fun Angie! Thanks for putting up with McKenzie’s tired, after-school behavior.)
What I miss: Sleep, not itching, and my husband. *sigh*
What I am looking forward to: The high-risk specialist is “stumped” with my case of Cholestasis of Pregnancy (as I mentioned in this post), so she has referred me to a new hepatology specialist who specializes in Women’s Health, different from the hepatologist that I usually see. I’m looking forward to seeing if this new doc will be able to offer any relief…anything. Seriously, I’m desperate. I can’t sleep more than an hour straight at night. Boo. But I’m also looking forward to:
- My baby girl will be “graduating” 4K! Where has the time gone?! I remember writing this post about her first day!! We’re making a dirt cake today for the after party—maybe I’ll do a blog post with that, it’s so tasty and fun! The kids love finding gummy worms in their cake. =)
- McKenzie’s last ballet class before summer is on Friday, and it’s another “Parent’s Day” to watch. Last time, I had so much fun watching! Let’s see if she’ll keep her tongue in her mouth this time. ;)
- A nice family from McKenzie’s swim class invited us to their daughter’s small birthday party on Saturday. How thoughtful of them! So I guess I’m excited to see adults & watch McKenzie play with other kids.
- Talking to Jon on Sunday. I hope he gets his Father’s Day stuff before then! And I’m also excited to see my sister-in-law during Father’s Day festivities at my in-law’s.
